INDIANAPOLIS – Downtown Indy’s transformation over the past few years has been jaw-dropping.
From the revitalization of surrounding neighborhoods to new buildings altering the city’s skyline – sometimes you just want to take it all in. What a better way to soak up the beauty of Indy than some of the city’s rooftops.
The following city rooftops will lead you to one-of-a-kind meals, cocktails and views.
Regions Tower (211 N. Pennsylvania Street)
Each Thursday night during the summer, you’re invited to get dressed in your best and head to the rooftop of Regions Tower for a night of sky-high views of the city, music, drinks, food and dancing. The weekly event is the self-proclaimed “number one destination for Indianapolis professionals, tastemakers, and trendsetters.”
Eagle’s Nest (1 South Capital Avenue)
Get a 360 view of downtown Indy in an upscale atmosphere at The Eagle’s Nest, the only revolving rooftop restaurant in Indiana. Diners will gain access to stunning views of Indy’s core while trying out several of the lunch and dinner options in addition to its list of signature cocktails.
Rooftop Garden Cocktail Lounge (1111 Prospect Street)
Open seasonally, this rooftop restaurant and bar for those 21 and over offers spectacular views of downtown Indy from its Fountain Square location Memorial Day through September. The lounge serves wine, local craft beers, appetizers and snacks beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Keep in mind, seating is on a first come, first serve bases – so grab yours early.
The Sky Farm at Eskenazi Health (720 Eskenazi Avenue)
What was once one of the city’s best kept secrets has gained much popularity over the years – The Sky Farm. Take the stairs (or elevator) up to the rooftop of the hospital’s Outpatient Care Center and you’ll find a 5,000-square-foot gardening space growing a wide variety of lettuces, onions, leaks, radishes, turnips, broccoli, cabbage and beets. The foods grown feed hospital patients and visitors throughout the year. Need to find the perfect time to head over? Don’t worry. The Sky Farm is open 24/7.
Livery (720 College Avenue)
The Cunningham Restaurant Group turned a building that once housed horse stables – hence the name – into a two-story causal gathering place with a rooftop patio. Livery brings a bit of Latin flair to the 1890’s building that serves top-shelf spirits, Tequilas and desserts all while you’re enjoying the breeze on the patio.
