MUNCIE, Ind. -- Five children were removed from a Muncie home Thursday after they were discovered living in "horrible" conditions,
Muncie Animal Control Director Phil Peckinpaugh said 13 pets were removed from the home of 37-year-old Heather Spring Parks – along with Parks' five children.
Peckinpaugh said the children were dirty and found to have no clean clothes. Fecal matter was also found throughout the home.
According to Peckinpaugh, animal control officers removed snakes, lizards, frogs, a dog and a cat from the home.
Parks was being held at the Delaware County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
