Looking for something to do this weekend? We've got you covered. Here are six things to do in Indy this Labor Day weekend.

Friday dinner on the farm

More like a mini farm. This farm-to-fork event hosted by Public Greens Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. includes a three-course meal served community style using Public Greens microfarm produce grown along the Monon Trail. This event gives you the opportunity to hear from farmers and bee keepers while harvesting a portion of the evening’s dinner and enjoying the company of others in the city. Tickets are $60 per person. More information can be found at publicgreensurbankitchen.com.

25+ food trucks? Yes, please!

You only have a few months to catch some of your favorite food trucks all in one parking lot. Think about it. You can grab ice cream, then mac and cheese, then tacos and whatever else your heart (and stomach) desires at the First Friday Food Truck Festival Sept. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. The Old National Centre parking lot will be home to more than 25 food trucks until 10 p.m. Not only can you try new food trucks, games, activities and vintage goods will also be on site. Tickets are $5 at the gate. More information can be found at Facebook.com/FirstFridayFoodTruckFestival.

Pay tribute to Gene Wilder

Any “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” fans out there? How about “Young Frankenstein”? If any of these movies are calling your name, you’re invited to pay tribute to actor Gene Wilder, whose films will be screened at the Toby at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum Sept 2. The IMA will show “Young Frankenstein” on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. and “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” will show Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at the IMAX Theater (this includes a complete concession take over with Wonka candy). “Blazing Saddles” will also show Sept. 3 at the IMAX Theater on Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online or at the box office the day of the film. More information can be found at imamuseum.org.

Celebrate Labor Day on Georgia Street

It may be Labor Day weekend but if you’re looking to have some fun and sneak in a little productivity, the Indy LaborFest might be on your weekend to-do list. Georgia Street will transform into a free admission festival featuring live music, food, beverages and a kid’s zone. Last year more than 15,000 people showed up to have some fun and learn about career opportunities, have a beer and take a turn on the big slide…after all, it is Labor Day weekend. More information can be found at indylaborfest.org.

Run your way through the ‘80s

Put on your neon-colored ‘80s gear and head down to the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park for The Glo Run. This 5K event will take place Sept. 3 beginning at 8:40 p.m. with a costume contest starting at 8:25 p.m. You’ll run through the glowing course where you can take selfies in front of glowing boomboxes, giant ‘80s mobile phones and more. If you’re not a runner and wanting to walk, that’s an option too. Tickets are $29.99 until Sept. 2 at noon. More information can be found at theglorun.com/Indianapolis.

Party on the rooftop

Said to be the biggest rooftop celebration of the summer, the Rooftop BBQ Bash will take place at Regions Tower Sept. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. Soak in spectacular views of downtown while enjoying music and of course, barbecue. Tickets are $10 per person and VIP cabana rentals are available. More information can be found at indybbqbash.com.
