Police make arrest in homicide killing 61-year-old man

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested for an alleged murder and battery case that took place in August on Indy's east side. 

Arthur Croom, 31, of Indianapolis is alleged to have beaten and killed 61-year-old Henry Bennett.

Croom turned himself into the Marion County Sheriff's Office Sept. 7 and police found he had several outstanding warrants including  possession of cocaine and domestic battery.

Bennett  was found critically injured following an altercation on the 1800 block of North Audubon Avenue in August. He later died due to his injuries. 

Croom is being held at the Marion County Jail.
