HOWARD COUNTY — A 75-year-old Kokomo man was killed after investigators say he drove into the path of a semi and caused a three-vehicle crash in an area of road that's under construction.
Deputies responded to the crash near the intersection of US 31 and County Road 600 North just before 2 p.m. Friday. The Howard County Sheriff's office says William Dickison was traveling eastbound on CR 600N in his gray Chevy Silverado when he entered hte soutbound lanes and was struck by a semi. The 62-year-old semi driver was unable to break in time to avoid the collision and the impact sent across the northbound lanes where he was struck by another semi, according to investigators.
Dickison was airlifted to the hospital where he later died. The two semi drivers were not injured in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation by the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
