INDIANAPOLIS — Recent heavy rains led to a dangerous current in Eagle Creek in Indianapolis Monday.
That's what three kayakers learned early in the evening. They became stuck on a sand bar near West Washington Street and Tibbs Avenue.
Emergency teams from the Wayne Township Fire Department went into the creek by boat and pulled one of the kayakers off the sand bar. The other two people were able to make it shore on their own.
All three were OK, but wet and cold, according to the Wayne Township Fire Department.
