BLOOMINGTON — When dispatcher Matt Smith went to the animal shelter to take some photos for the Bloomington Police Department, he had no idea he would find a new mission.
Five-year-old Nevada had been waiting on a home for 97 days," the Bloomington Police Department posted on social media. "We were't sure if she liked strangers and we didn't want to push her out of her comfort zone, but as soon as Matt picked her up, she laid her head on his chest and gave him the longest, sweetest, most heart-wrenching hug."
You can help the Bloomington Police Department and Matt spread the word about Nevada and others who are waiting for a home at the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control. Adoption fees for the month of November are only $20 for dogs and cats between 5 and 10 years old. Cats and Dogs over 10 years old are free.
"It's clear that Nevada is going to make someone a very special little friend." the department said.
