Three Indianapolis road improvement projects were approved by the Board of Public Works, Wednesday. The price tag is nearly $5 million and work is expected to begin in a few weeks.

Here are the plans:

  • 91st Street from Ditch Road to Westfield Boulevard, on the north side.
  • 52nd Street from High School Road to Lafayette Road, on the northwest side.
  • Harcourt Road from Westlane Road to Dugan Drive, on the north side.

According to the Department of Public Works, the projects include road repaving, along with new sidewalks and curbs. Ramps that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act will also be built.

This work is part of the city's 2019 infrastructure plan which includes 167 lane miles of road resurfacing this year.

According to DPW, the city will spend $400 million over the next four years to fix bridges, rebuild roads and increase pedestrian safety.
