INDIANAPOLIS -- A 25-year-old man was killed in a crash on Interstate 65 near downtown Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a dump truck, driven by Jared Crump, rear ended a semi in the right lane of I-65 when traffic was stopped.
Crump and his 21-year-old passenger were extricated from the truck and taken to Eskenazi Health. Crump was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m. The passenger is still in serious condition.
The crash initially the right three lanes of I-65 SB near Washington Street.
The affected area eventually grew to include both north and south splits, with I-65 SB and I-70 WB the most affected.
