GARY, Ind. -- A statewide Amber Alert for a missing 15-year-old girl from Gary, Indiana, has been canceled. The young girl has been located and is safe.
Chastinea Reeves went missing early Monday morning after her mother was the victim of a violent crime, according to Indiana State Police.
Police are still not releasing what crime her mother was a victim of.
What determines if an Amber Alert is issued?
An Amber Alert was issued for Chastinea after she did not show up at school and was not located with any family members.
She was located sometime Tuesday and police say she is safe. Her location is not being released.
Gary, Indiana is 30 miles south of Chicago, Illinois.
