INDIANAPOLIS -- Buckets and barrels of pop tabs flooded Monument Circle Friday for the 12th annual Pop Tab Drop benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.
This year, organizers hoped to set the Guinness World Record for the most aluminum can tabs recycled in 24 hours.
That record shouldn't be hard to beat, thanks to people like Larry Vanness from Anderson – who donated more than 600,000 pop tabs.
"It's for the kids, and I want to thank everybody that's help me," Vanness aid. "I've got a lot of people helping me. I get them in the mail. I get them from the welfare department."
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families of children being treated at Indianapolis hospitals.
