Anderson police warning of fake healthcare scam

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Anderson police are warning senior citizens about a woman who is gaining entrance into homes by impersonating a healthcare worker.

Police the suspect targeted at least two different households, including the one belonging to 88-year-old Roberta Simons.

The woman told Simons she represented the health department and was there to "check on the elderly."

While she was in the home, the woman took cash from Simon's purse and stole painkillers.

Police say the suspect is described as a well-dressed black woman with a light complexion. She's thought to be in her mid-30s with a thin build and of average height.
