Antiques Roadshow coming to Indy this weekend

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- This weekend, fans of Antiques Roadshow will be able to get their most treasured items appraised in Indianapolis.

But before that, one of the show's featured appraisers, Gary Piattoni, spent an afternoon at a retirement community in Carmel.

He says helping people learn more about their collectibles is the best part of the job.

"I certainly remember more of the folks that I have met and the interesting stories they have told me, because it's not necessarily about value, although that is exciting," Piattoni said. "It's really about, for me, if I can unlock a little bit of something for someone. Give them information they haven't had before and then hear the background of the item they have."

Piattoni will be back working again on Saturday alongside more than 70 other appraisers at the Indiana Convention Center. Tickets for the event have already sold out.
