INDIANAPOLIS -- U.S. Marshals arrested a suspect in Canton, Ohio, last month in connection with Indianapolis' first murder of 2016.
Marshals arrested 26-year-old Najee Givens on preliminary charges of murder in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Terry Williams on January 4.

Williams was found lying dead with a gunshot wound just outside the entrance of an apartment complex near East 21st Street and North Arlington Avenue.

Givens was taken into custody June 29 in Canton, Ohio, and extradited back to Indianapolis last week.
He was being held in the Marion County Jail awaiting trial.
