INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is in critical condition after police say he broke into a home on Indianapolis' east side Wednesday evening.
IMPD originally reported the incident as a shooting but upon further investigation said the man had glass stuck in his hand.
Officers were called to East 10th Street and North Sherman Drive around 6 p.m. They say a man broke a window at a house he did not live at,
He then ran across the street into another house. The homeowner said the man tried to run up the stairs to get help but was stopped.
Witnesses said the man ran across the street toward another home but collapsed before he got there.
The victim was transported to the hospital.
