NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Pumpkin patches around central Indiana should be plentiful this year due to all the rain we had in August.
Loren Schmierer has grown pumpkins at Stonycreek Farm in Noblesville for 44 years.
Schmierer plants each pumpkin seed by hand.
He says the biggest challenges to growing the perfect crop include beetles and plant diseases.
Stonycreek Farm, at 11366 Indiana 38, celebrates its 44th annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival from October 1 through October 31.
