INDIANAPOLIS -- A 29-year-old man with family in Avon was killed Sunday in the terrorist attack on an Orlando nightclub.
Darryl Roman Burt II was one of 49 people killed at the Pulse nightclub. The suspect, New York-born Omar Mateen, died in a gun battle with SWAT team members. Officials say they believe Mateen had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

According to a Jacksonville, Florida, TV station, Burt lived in Florida, where he worked his way up from a McDonald's manager to working in financial aid for a university.
Burt's family asked for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.
