INDIANAPOLIS -- A Marion County jury found Avory Johnson not guilty Wednesday night of fatally shooting another man at the Coke Lot during the 2014 Indianapolis 500.
Johnson was accused of killing 25-year-old Max Levine on May 24 during the Indy 500 weekend.
Levine left behind a 3-year-old daughter, Maddison, who was being raised by her grandmother.
"[Maddison] is my little part of him still," said Janice Bickel, Levine's mother. "That's my little part of him. For anyone who has lost a child, they know what that is like."
The jury deliberated for four hours Wednesday before returning the "not guilty" verdict.
Johnson was also found not guilty of carrying a handgun without a license.
