COLUMBUS, Ind. -- A Columbus High School student has been arrested after police say he threatened violence against Columbus East High School.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the juvenile in question will be facing felony intimidation charges for the threat.

Police say the message was allegedly sent to several students on the social media platform Snapchat.

Parents with students at the high school began showing up to pick up their children after the threat became known Tuesday afternoon.

Columbus police are still investigating the incident.

A second incident on Wednesday happened while students were evacuating the school after someone pulled the fire alarm.

Investigators say a threatening message was posted on social media by a former student at the school while the students gathered outside. That person was found and arrested. Their name has not been released.

Columbus East is just the latest Indiana high school dealing with social media threats of violence following the mass shooting at a Florida high school last week.

Two Carmel High School students were arrested Monday in connection with threats made towards students and staff at Carmel High School and several other schools have had increased police presence because of threats.
