BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- If you live in Bloomington and you're afraid of snakes you might want to keep your eyes peeled. A Bloomington man is searching for his pet python that escaped from his home on Wednesday.
Andrew Kinney reported the snake missing from his home in the 400 block of E. Second Street around 10:15 a.m. He said the Python, named Iris, roams freely around his home with his other python, Freya.
Kinney said he went to take his snakes for a "walk" Wednesday morning and noticed that one of them was gone.
"We typically let the snakes just roam the bedroom, they're pretty good," said Kinney. "They go to the window, or they go to the closet to manipulate their heat."
Kinney said Iris loves it outside and could be hiding in plain sight.
He knows snakes aren't the most-loved animals out there, but he hopes that if somebody finds Iris, they won't hurt her.
"Everybody loves cats and dogs, but nobody likes snakes," said Kinney.
Iris is described as being about 3.5 feet long with bright green and black coloring and a blemish on her tail.
If you come across Iris, you should contact Bloomington Animal Care and Control at 812-349-3492.
