BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A Bloomington mother recently shared her support for the Affordable Care Act in Washington as she said her child continues to battle health problems.

Cyndi Johnson said when her daughter was diagnosed with Down syndrome, her home became full of bills. The mother said her family neared the $1 million lifetime cap on her husband’s insurance policy within the first year of her daughter’s life.

Johnson said the Affordable Care Act helped her family receive a medical waiver to help with incoming bills.
