PITTSBORO, Ind. -- A boil water advisory has been issued for the city of Pittsboro and about 200 customers south of Lizton because of a water main break in Hendricks County Wednesday morning.
Citizens Energy Group customers impacted by the boil order include those living in an area bounded by County Roads 800N, 450N, 573E and State Street in Lizton.
The city of Pittsboro has placed all of their citizens under a boil water advisory as well.
Tri-West High School and Tri-West Middle School were both closed Wednesday because of the water main break near the intersection of E. County Road 450 N and High Drive.
Repairs to the broken water main are expected to take several hours. There is currently no update on when water service will be restored.
When water is restored to Lizton and Pittsboro residents later today, customers are advised to boil their drinking water for three minutes and allow it to cool before using it. The advisory will remain in effect for the next 36 ours.
