BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Police are investigating after a woman says a man broke into her apartment and sexually assaulted her.
It happened at the Knight's Landing Apartments, just blocks from the Indiana University campus.
According to police the 24-year-old woman said she woke up around 5:30 Monday morning to find a man standing by her bed.
The woman told police that the man tied her hands behind her back and sexually assaulted her. He took her cell phone so she couldn't call police, so the victim emailed her father, who called police for her.
Police say there were no signs of forced entry and they are still working to piece together the details about what happened. They are asking people who live near the complex to be vigilant and make sure to lock your doors and windows.
Many IU students live in the apartment complex, but it is unclear if the woman is a student.
The apartment manager declined to comment but the complex does have signs saying they have surveillance cameras.
Police say they do not have a clear description of the suspect at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
