INDIANAPOLIS -- Traffic near the I-65/I-70 split near downtown Indianapolis will likely be slow for a while due to a crash and a fuel spill.
The crash was reported just before 5:45 p.m. on southbound 65 just past Washington St. (mile marker 111). A dispatcher with Indiana State Police says one of the vehicles appears to have lost a lot of fuel, so all southbound traffic heading to the area is being diverted into the collector lanes while crews attempt to clean up the spill.
Police say traffic can still get by, but since it is being diverted into the I-70 collector lanes, it will be much slower, and backups are extending to I-70.
There was no immediate word on injuries from the crash.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
