BROWN COUNTY, Ind. -- A Fishers man was killed and a child injured in an off-road vehicle accident in Brown County Saturday morning.

Indiana Conservation Officers say the man and the child were on an ORV headed eastbound in the 3000 block of Marlett Rd. in Nashville when it appears that the vehicle veered off a gravel road.

Both were thrown from the ORV as it flipped several times and landed on its slide. They were found by a family member.

Conservation officers say Joseph Fenton, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis with a laceration to his head.

Neither Fenton nor the child was wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident, according to conservation officers.

Authorites do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor to the accident at this time.
