INDIANAPOLIS --  Police believe a medical emergency caused a bus driver to lose control, nearly crashing into a home Tuesday afternoon.

It happened near the intersection of E. Raymond Street and Keystone Avenue.

School officials say the bus was transporting students from the Indiana Math and Science Academy when it went off the road hitting a pole and plowing through two yards before it pushed a car aside and narrowly missed smashing into a house.

The students were all checked out at the scene, no serious injuries were reported.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital for observation.
