CARMEL, Ind. -- Chalk up another reason to live in Carmel.

It's been named the safest city in the nation to raise a child by The SafeWise Report.

Carmel was ranked No. 1 because it puts an emphasis on children and infrastructure, "...it's a town that promotes health, safety, and success of its youngest inhabitants."

This is the second such honor for Carmel in less than a week.  The city was alsoranked number one place to live in Indiana by Niche.com

Another Indiana city came in at No. 2 on the SafeWise ranking.

Fishers got the nod because of its low crime stats.

SafeWise looked at FBI violent crime data, sex offender populations, state graduation rates and school rankings for cities with a population of more than 10,000.

Cities were also evaluated on programs that were kid-friendly and unique.
