SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- A young boy was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children Friday after an apparent medical condition and fall from a festival ride in Shelbyville.
Shelbyville police told RTV6 that an 11-year-old boy had a medical condition while on The Zipper ride. When an employee opened the door to the ride to remove him, the child fell out of the ride and struck his head on the ground.
A reserve police officer ran to the scene. The officer started CPR before the EMTs arrived.
The boy was then airlifted to Riley Hospital in unknown condition.
The ride was shut down and was being inspected by the fire marshal.
