Circle City Classic celebrates 32nd year

Posted
INDIANAPOLIS -- Downtown Indianapolis is hosting thousands of visitors and locals as the annual Circle City Classic is taking place this weekend.

Mixed in with the big crowds was the Faith Patrol, a group of volunteers spreading the message of peace.

Organizers have found that unescorted teens often flock to downtown when there are major events. The Faith Patrol wants to encourage those unescorted teenagers to be on their best behavior.

The Faith Patrol works closely with IMPD. Organizers said they have seen few to no issues during Circle City Classic Weekend.

A big part of the weekend is the actual football game. This year, the Central State University Marauders took on Kentucky State University's Thoroughbreds.

As part of the Circle City Classic, hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets to watch dozens of marching bands, dance teams, floats and community groups weave their way through downtown Indianapolis.

The Circle City Classic is said to have one of the top parades in the country.
