City waging war against abandoned vehicles

  • City officials continue waging a seemingly never-ending war on abandoned or inoperable cars.
  • By definition, a vehicle 3-years-or-older that is mechanically inoperable and visible from the public right of way for 20 or more days qualifies as a city-ordered tow.
  • The city says in 80 percent of cases, owners will correct violations and repair or remove vehicles before they're towed.
