Frankfort homeowner shot, killed man he said broke into his home

CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A Frankfort homeowner told police that he shot and killed an intruder in his home late Tuesday evening. 

Officers were called to a home in the 300 block of north Bunnel Street around 10 p.m. after a man called and said he had just shot an intruder. 

When police arrived they attempted to revive the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clinton County Coroner identified the man as Kevin Huffer, 37, of Frankfort. 

Police detained the homeowner for questioning. His name has not been released and no charges have been filed. 

The incident and death remain under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff's Department.
