ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- The Indianapolis Colts have released Jonathan Newsome, less than a week after his arrest.

Newsome was arrested early Wednesday morning on drug possession charges.

Newsome, a second year player who graduated from Ball State, was arrested on Michigan Road in Zionsville while police were investigating a noise complaint.

He was charged with two counts of Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

He was arrested three years ago in Muncie on the same charge.

Newsome had just 19 tackles in the 2015 season for the Colts.
