COLUMBUS — Firefighters in Columbus rescued a 6-year-old boy who got his hand stuck inside a toy vending machine.
When firefighters arrived at the El Nopal Mexican Restaurant on W. Jonathan Moore Pike around noon on Friday they found the little boy with his hand and wrist completely inside the opening of the vending machine in the restaurant's lobby.
After unsuccessfully trying to remove the boy's hand, firefighters devised a plan to carefully dismantle the machine.
"After a few turns of a screwdriver, the child was free from the machine without injury," the department said in a release.
