COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus East High School student was killed in a vehicle accident Saturday night, according to the Columbus Police Department.
Officers said they determined that 15-year-old Abbott Garn got out of a stopped SUV in the 2500 block of Franklin Street around 9:30 p.m.
A short time later, Garn attempted to get back into the SUV as it began moving and he was struck by the vehicle.
He was transported to IU Methodist Hospital by helicopter where he later died from his injuries, according to police.
Officials at the police department said the investigation is ongoing.
