INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids on Saturday, why not visit a park?
Through a partnership with the Indiana Children's Nature Network, Indy Parks is hosting Nature Play Days Saturday at Eagle Creek Park and Garfield Park.
Nature Play Days are designed to get families and children playing and exploring the outdoors.
Check out the list of activities below.
Nature Play Day at the Eagle Creek Ornithology Center
Where: 6515 Delong Rd.
When: 6/17/2017, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Bring the whole family to explore Eagle Creek and the Ornithology Center where we will have the migration game obstacle course open, guided nature walks, and other nature activities throughout the day. All of the listed activities are FREE to the public with park admission!
Nature Play Days at the Earth Discovery Center
Where: 5901 Delong Rd.
When: 6/17/2017, 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Activities include mud painting, bug bingo, pond scooping, themed hikes, and more! All of the activities at the Earth Discovery Center are free with park admission. Park admission is $5 per vehicle for Marion County residents and $6 per vehicle for out of county residents. Adults must stay with children during the activities. Registration is not needed for these activities.
Scavenger Hunt at Garfield Park
Where: 2505 Conservatory Dr.
When: 6/17/2017, 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
To encourage you to explore all that Garfield Park has to offer, come to the Conservatory to pick your park scavenger hunt. Return the completed scavenger hunt for a prize.
Garden Exploration Day Garfield Park Conservatory
Where: 2505 Conservatory Dr.
When: 6/17/2017, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for an hour of fun in the Children's Garden. Kids will have a chance to explore the gardens, try fresh produce, play outdoor games, and other various activities.
Arts for All: Natural Design Garfield Park Arts Center
Where: 2432 Conservatory Dr.
When: 6/17/2017, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The Garfield Park Arts Center will be hosting its weekly drop-in program, Arts for All, which will focus on nature and graphic design. Participants will look at branding, recycling, graphic design elements, and the way that impacts our natural environment. The Natural Design art exhibition will also be available in the Main Gallery. The program is free and open to all ages. No registration required.
