BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Community members in Brownsburg came together Sunday evening to release pink balloons in memory of an 8-year-old boy who drowned in a retention pond on Friday.

His body was recovered from the pond Saturday morning.

Dozens of people gathered at Creekside Commons Park Sunday evening to hold a vigil for the young boy and release pink balloons in his memory.

Lawson's family was at the vigil and spoke to those who gathered before the vigil began.
