INDIANAPOLIS — The community is coming together to support employees of an east side brewery.

Black Acre Brewing Company was damaged by a fire over the weekend and will be temporarily closed until crews can make repairs.

Employees there rely on wages and tips, but it could be weeks before they're able to go back to work so neighbors started an online fundraiser for them.

In just three days they were able to raise more than $5,000.

"It is really exciting," said the organizer of the fundraiser, Kelly Hannon. "It goes to show I think the timing and the holiday spirit of everybody. It just showed another opportunity for this community to show how we work and support each other."

Black Acre Brewing Company will match all online donations with a gift card to their brewery. To redeem, just donate and then email info@blackacrebrewing.com.

The company will also open their outdoor beer garden area to the public on Thursday and Friday.
