Methadone clinic relocation put on hold

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- The controversial relocation of an east-side methadone clinic was put on hold this week when the zoning board couldn't reach a quorum.

The clinic exists currently at 2626 E. 46th Street. It serves 75-100 people an hour some days. The clinic says it needs a larger space and wants to move to a new location at 3820 S. Madison Avenue, near the University of Indianapolis on the south side.

Representatives for the district, however, think the location is a bad idea.

RTV6 reporter Derrik Thomas talked to both sides to get their stories. Watch his report in the video player above.
