The Concrete Décor Show brought its wares to Indy, and maybe even a new way of looking at the material.

In the world of decorative concrete, Indianapolis was the place to be this week for the sixth annual Concrete Décor Show.

Best friends and artists Evan Gallant of Texas and Ellie Ellis of Oregon won acclaim at the show for their "Little Mermaid"-themed piece. As a bonus, the piece will be staying in Indianapolis as part of a permanent display and new playground at the Julian Center.

"I hope this piece will inspire the families that are going to be sitting around it at The Julian Center for battered and abused women and my prayer is that they gain hope and know they're headed in the right direction and there's always a light at the end of the tunnel like the moon above the mermaid-- she suffered immensely looking for love, and there is hope," the women said.

The piece was set to be unveiled Thursday at the Julian Center.
