INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man found guilty by a jury last month received a 60 year prison sentence, Wednesday.
50-year-old David Rojas was convicted of killing 35-year-old Jose Garcia-Lopez, who died of blunt force trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds.
His body was found inside a dumpster at the Spanish Oaks Apartments near East 38th Street and North Mitthoeffer Road in February 2017.
Police noticed blood and a butcher knife outside the dumpster and found the victim's body buried inside under garbage bags.
Police said the murder was not random and that the two men knew each other.
