Coroner's office identifies man whose body was found in White River

INDIANAPOLIS — A 36-year-old man whose body was recovered Sunday afternoon from the White River has been identified.

According to information from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, rescue crews were dispatched to a trail behind the Indianapolis Zoo in the 1200 block of Washington Street just before 3:40 p.m. Sunday after a body was reported to be in the White River.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as Theordore Barnett.

Barnett's cause of death has not been determined.
