INDIANAPOLIS — One person has died in a crash on I-465 near the I-69 interchange on the northeast side of Indianapolis Saturday evening.
Indiana State Police dispatchers began receiving calls about a serious crash involving a motorcycle on the ramp from I-465 northbound to I-69 northbound just before 4 p.m.
Upon arrival, first responders located an unresponsive adult male lying in the right lane of the ramp. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to ISP, the motorcyclist was driving at a high speed when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail along the side of the ramp.
The impact ejected the man from the motorcycle underneath a trailer being pulled by a pick-up truck, ISP says. The trailer then rolled over the man.
The driver of the pick-up remained on scene.
The ramp from I-465 northbound to I-69 was closed for three hours while the crash was investigated, it has since re-opened.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the man's identity once his family is notified.
