According to a letter from ISU President Deborah J. Curtis that was sent out via email, the victim has been identified as Valentina "Tina" Delva, a freshman at the university.

"This is a very tragic situation that every university president prays never happens," Curtis wrote. "Our entire community must come together to care for one another as we remember her life."
