1 person dead after shooting on north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A person died in a shooting early Saturday on the north side of Indianapolis.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot at 2:25 a.m. in the 3100 block of Baltimore Terrace, according to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

When they arrived, police found a person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they later died, IMPD said.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began looking for witnesses.

The victim's identity has not been released, and police have not said what led to the shooting.
