1 person dead in shooting on northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — One man died after a shooting Tuesday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound just before 8 a.m. in the 3400 block of North Oxford Street, IMPD spokesperson Officer Samone Burris said in a news release.

Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police have not released the man's identity or information about a suspect. The shooting remains under investigation.
