KOKOMO — A 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting during what police believe was a drug deal late Sunday evening.
Kokomo Police Department officers responded to the Linkcolnwood Apartments on Mark Lane at around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a "person down."
Arriving officers found Dalton Wayne Fisher, 15, suffering from suspected gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Fisher's 22-year-old sister was also at the scene. Investigators determined that she had traveled to the apartment complex to sell marijuana, but an altercation of some sort occurred with the two men she was meeting and several shots were fired. Witnesses told police they saw two men running from the vehicle before the call to 911.
Fisher's sister has been arrested and is facing charges of neglect of a dependent, possession of a handgun and dealing a controlled substance.
Police are still searching for two additional suspects seen running from the scene.
Police say witnesses described the two men as the following:
- Light skinned black male, 5’6-5’7, thin build with a distinct flat nose, wearing dark clothing
- Black male, shorter in height, thin build, wearing dark clothing
Anyone with information about the case or who the two additional suspects could be should contact the Kokomo Police Department at 765-456-7017 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 1-800-262-8477.
