WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Westfield police are looking for two women suspected of stealing a family’s yellow lab Wednesday night.
Police put out an alert Thursday for the dog, named “Molly,” after her owners reported her missing.
The owners told police two women, one adult and one a teenager, approached their dog kennel in the 200 block of West 161st Street around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday night, and then again around 8:00 p.m., asking questions and wanting to pet their 6-month-old yellow Labrador retriever, Molly.
They said they realized Molly was missing around 9 p.m.
The older suspect was described as an adult white female wearing a grey ball cap and hoodie, black yoga-style pants and tennis shoes. The younger suspect was described as a teenage white female with shoulder-length brown hair, who was also wearing a grey hoodie, black pants and tennis shoes.
One or both of the suspects may have entered a black SUV before leaving the area.
