INDIANAPOLIS — Seven people were wounded Saturday morning in shootings throughout Indianapolis, including two who were hospitalized following a double-shooting downtown, according to police.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported the first shooting before 1 a.m. after a person walked into Community Hospital East with a gunshot wound. The person is listed in stable condition.
Shortly after, IMPD officers responded to a shooting on the east side in the 2200 block of North Spencer Avenue. That person is also reported to be in stable condition.
Before 1:30 a.m., two people checked into IU Health Methodist Hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the victims is in critical condition, while the other is stable, police said.
About an hour later, two people were shot downtown in the 200 block of South Meridian Street in the area of several bars. IMPD public information officer William Young said both people are in stable condition. Detectives are looking for leads into what led to the shooting, Young said.
Officers responded to another shooting after 10 a.m. in the 3300 block of East New York Street after one person was shot. The victim is listed in stable condition.
