INDIANAPOLIS — A 9-year-old boy was injured Monday morning after he accidentally shot himself with a gun inside an apartment on the north side of Indianapolis, police said.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the shooting at about 10 a.m. at an apartment complex off Ditch Road in the 1200 block of Racquet Club North Drive.
Medics transported the child to an area hospital in stable condition.
Police said there were no adults at home and called the incident a "terrible accident."
The case remains under investigation.
