INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead, another shot and a third was apprehended in a series of events at three locations across the city on Tuesday.

The sequence of events is as follows:

Police officers first responded to the 6600 block of 42nd Street around 9:20 a.m. after a person called 911 and reported that someone in a red SUV Maserati shot their dog.

Arriving officers say a young female running around in her underwear outside saw a man run into a nearby home covered in blood. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside the home and he was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital.

Officers also located two dogs shot inside the home.

Less than ten minutes after the call for the shooting, officers were called to the area of 46th Street and Emerson Avenue on a report of a serious crash between and SUV and a minivan.

The elderly woman in the van received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Methodist Hospital in good condition.

Police say the driver of the SUV had no shirt on and ran from the scene covered in blood. He was identified as being involved in the shooting at E. 42nd Street and appeared to have serious injuries when they arrived on the scene. When officers tried to detain him, the suspect began to violently resist arrest. At one point the suspect kicked an officer in the chest, according to IMPD, and a Taser had to be used to subdue him.

That man was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Because officers were involved IMPD's Critical Incident Response Team was called to assist with the investigation.

One officer received minor injuries from the struggle.

11:50 p.m.

While investigating that scene, officers were called to a home on Raleigh Drive for an unresponsive male victim suffering from undisclosed trauma.

Clinton Hamilton, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause and manner of death will be determined by the Marion County Coroner.

Detectives believe all three incidents are related and they are still working to get all of the details from witnesses so they can piece them together.

If you have any additional information you can contact the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
